Slow cooker bbq chicken thighs

An easy button dinner that requires just chicken thighs, spices, and bbq sauce. So simple and tasty.

Ingredients

  • 3 lb chicken thighs boneless skinless
  • 1 ¼ c bbq sauce
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp chili powder

Instructions

  • Place chicken, 1 cup sauce, salt, garlic and chili powder in slow cooker.
  • Place on the lid and cook on low for 6-7 hours or high for 4 hours.
  • Remove chicken and shred.
  • Place back in sauce, and stir in the remainder ¼ cup of the sauce if needed.
  • Serve as is or on buns.

Notes

If you would like to use a homemade bbq sauce, try one single batch of my homemade version. You may need ½ cup extra water stirred in at the end if using my homemade sauce instead of more sauce. It is often thicker than bottled sauces.
