Place chicken, 1 cup sauce, salt, garlic and chili powder in slow cooker.
Place on the lid and cook on low for 6-7 hours or high for 4 hours.
Remove chicken and shred.
Place back in sauce, and stir in the remainder ¼ cup of the sauce if needed.
Serve as is or on buns.
Notes
If you would like to use a homemade bbq sauce, try one single batch of my homemade version. You may need ½ cup extra water stirred in at the end if using my homemade sauce instead of more sauce. It is often thicker than bottled sauces.
